- What is the Program?

The Program has been carefully structured to address the most common area of activity in business where, irrespective of the level at which an employee is working, there is every likelihood that person will need to understand what constitutes sound business practice. The list of topics covered is comprehensive and it is difficult to dismiss any one of them as not basic to business activity.

Subject Description: this unit seeks to provide participants with an appreciation of the role accounting and finance plays within an organisation, and in its dealings with others. Its major aim is to convey an understanding of accounting in the context of business organisations, and how it involves measurement, usually in monetary terms, of transactions and other events pertaining to accounting entities. The unit further seeks to convey to students the importance of accounting for the purposes of organisational stewardship, control and decision-making. No previous knowledge of accounting is required, or assumed, in this subject.

Subject Description: participants will learn the importance of innovation as an engine of growth and profitability for firms in the new economic era. The principles of entrepreneurship and its influence on innovative activities form the basis of this subject. Participants will also learn how organisations in the new economic era convert ideas and concepts into systematic business plans for organisational profitability, within a legal and regulatory framework.
