Baroness Susan Greenfield CBE:
When Science Meets Business
B-HERT was delighted to work with CEDA in hosting Baroness Susan Greenfield in Melbourne on 16th March 2009.
Her lunch address called on business to look beyond consumer gratification and instead use information technology and computer software to breed curiosity and abstract thinking. Her concerns are that computer games and social networking potentially could supplant reading and leave children unable to adequately grasp metaphor and abstract thinking.
Baroness Greenfield is the Director of the Royal Institution of Great Britain and the inspiration behind the Royal Institution of Australia which is due to open in Adelaide in October.
