|2012 Oct - Research Skills for an Innovative Future: Business Views and Needs - Final Report||This report summarises the proceedings of two workshops commissioned by the Department of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and
Tertiary Education (DIISRTE) designed to bring together business and university representatives to discuss the value of Higher
Degree by Research (HDR) graduates as employees within their organisations. Business employers offer an important perspective to
the implementation of the Australian Government’s Research Workforce Strategy.
The workshops were hosted by Griffith University and the Queensland University of Technology and the participants invited were employers of research graduates.
|Rebuilding the Agricultural Workforce||In 2009 BHERT became more directly involved in addressing skill shortages in the agricultural industry. At our initiative we brought together a group of stakeholders and raised the money to commission The Allen Consulting Group to identify how to address the poor participation rates in agriculture related fields of study leading to a serious decline in professionally qualified scientists. Their report identifies the problems and provides guidance for future intervention.|
Driving collaboration across business, industry and tertiary education.
