Industry Network in STEM (IMNIS) is a prestigious initiative of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering (ATSE) that works with the Fellows of the Academy and other industry leaders to exclusively mentor PhD students in STEM.
The BHERT Best Higher Education and Training Collaboration Award in 2016 boosted IMNIS to the next level. It is now an award-winning program, having received one of the most prestigious and well-recognised awards in the Business and Higher Education Sector.

Since the Award, IMNIS is moving toward achieving a key long-term objective, to narrow the cultural gap between industry and universities and prepare a new generation of diverse, inclusive, industry aware PhD graduates.
Thanks to funding provided by major partner MTPConnect, the IMNIS MedTech-Pharma program is rolling out across Australia in partnership with AusBiotech. Dr Marguerite Evans-Galea has been appointed the inaugural IMNIS Executive Director, and additional collaborative programs are launching with two other industry growth centres, METS Ignited (Minerals Resources) and NERA (Energy Resources). CSL, KPMG and FB Rice are also strongly supporting this initiative.
IMNIS is gaining momentum and continues to strengthen ties between industry and academia while attracting a growing number of outstanding mentors and enthusiastic mentees from around Australia. For more information, see the IMNIS website.
