Australian firm Intersective, a BHERT member, is one of the first to receive funding from CSIRO’s investment fund, Main Sequence Ventures. Intersective’s Practera platform provides a toolkit for educators to manage a range of experiential learning programmes like internships, cross-functional projects, accelerators, mentoring and skills micro-credentialing.The new funds will be used to extend and enhance the capabilities of the platform.

Beau Leese, Co-CEO of Intersective, commented “The changing future of work requires developing and evolving skills through practical experience. There are millions of programs globally designed to deliver that real world learning, however they have common scale, cost and measurement challenges, so many people miss out.Practera helps passionate educators make these programs far more accessible, efficient and effective. Our customers are using Practera to scale their existing programs, immediately seeing benefits.”

The Practera platform links Australian University students to a range of employers from sectors including government, professional services, banking, insurance and start-ups.It has already been adopted by overseas clients including Boston University and the Indian School of Careers.

Wes Sonnenreich, Co-CEO and formerly National Director of Innovation for Deloitte, highlighted the exploitation of Intersective’s R&D: “We’re going far beyond efficiency – we’re using data science to give educators actionable, real-time insights into a type of learning that has been previously difficult to measure… In Main Sequence Ventures, Intersective found a partner willing to back our R&D in machine learning that accelerates skill development and increases engagement and satisfaction for all participants.”
